The Film

On the stunning island of Martha’s Vineyard, just off the East Coast mainland, stands a 160-year-old piece of American history that is still saving lives today – the Gay Head Lighthouse.

But fast eroding cliffs – caused by more severe storms, rising sea levels and ground water – now threaten this majestic building. After protecting generations of mariners, the lighthouse now needs rescuing itself. So locals have raised $3 million and hired the ultimate team of house movers to pick up the structure and move it inland before it falls down the bluff. The lighthouse represents our environment on the edge – perilously close to destruction. Can it be saved, before it’s too late?
