The Film
Award-winning documentary-maker Daisy Asquith - in collaboration with Dunstan Bruce of cult band Chumbawamba - tells the stories of disaffected youth in Brighton.
Shot in the style of a documentary, the film has a cast of 14-17 year old actors, MCs and vocalists who were found at youth centres and schools in the city itself.
Whatever gets you inside the heads of a diverse group of teenagers using mock interviews, improvised drama and original songs to give layers of insight into their world.
The young cast display an extraordinary talent, portraying their characters’ reality through raw lyrics and gritty music. The soundtrack has already sparked the interest of London based record label Ninja Tunes.
