Head of Development

Leesa entered the world of documentaries as a FT2 trainee researcher, working at a number of independent companies, including Windfall Films. Since joining Windfall in 2001, she has worked on a diverse range of projects – ranging from Victorian engineering in Men of Iron, retired criminal masterminds in The Heist, human guinea pigs in Cold War - Dirty Science and young people with learning disabilities in the drama-doc Richard Is My Boyfriend.   

She produced the BBC drama-doc Sea of Fire about the sinking of the HMS Coventry during the Falklands conflict, and the hard-hitting Race and Intelligence: Science’s Last Taboo for Channel 4 - winner of the Grierson Award for Best Science Documentary.  ?Leesa was Producer/Director on Monster Moves - Rescuing RamessesAnimal Monster Moves – Black Rhino, the Stalingrad and Kursk episodes of the innovative military history series Generals at War, and series produced the 2011 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures – Meet Your Brain.   

As Head of Development, Leesa has overseen various key projects, including Meet the Elephant ManEscape from Colditz and Attack of the Zeppelins for Channel 4, and her dream project - the major BBC2 series The Wonder of Dogs, on which she was also Executive Producer.
